Code of Conduct

ATHLETES

Agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the Ft. Bend Stars or any host venues. Avoid any behavior which would cause unreasonable disruption or interference in practice, training camps, or competition. Treat opponents with respect. Play hard, but within the rules. Exercise self control at all times, setting the example for others to follow. Respect officials and accepts their decisions without gestures or agrument. Win without boasting, loses without excuses, and never quits. Alway remember that it is a privilege to play.

COACHES

Coaches shall encourage their players and make constructive comments. Comments that berate, embarrass, or humiliate a player are improper. Coaches shall respect the coaches and players of teh opposing team during the play of the game and at it conclusion, win or lose. Coaches shall teach each player, through personal example, to be humble in victory and courteous in defeat. Coaches shall practice the principle that a team's reputation is built not only on its playing ability but also on its sportsmanship. Coaches shall say nothing to opposing players during a game except to congratulate them for fair play. Coaches shall inspire in the athletes a love for the games and a desire to compete fairly. Coaches shall discipline those on the team who display unsportsmanlike conduct. Coaches shall respect the judgement and interpretation of the rules by the officials. Coaches shall be held responsible for the conduct of their athletes, parents, and other spectators.

PARENTS

Parents shall respect your child's teammates and fellow parents as well as the players, parents, and coaches from the opposing teams. Parents shall give only encouragment and applaud only positive accomplishments whether for their child, his/her teammates, their opponents, and the officials. Parents shall not instruct from the sidelines unless asked by the coach. Parents shall insure that their child attends all practices and games, and when not possible, inform the coach in advance. Parents shall respect any equipment or uniform that their child receives. Any damages to equipment or uniforms is the parents responsibility. Parents shall never demonstrate threatening or abusive behavior or use foul language. Parents shall repsect all coahes and support his/her efforts.

DISCIPLINE

Failure to follow the rules will result in disciplinary measures, including suspension from practice, suspension from the team or expulstion from the team.

Desire

Desire is the most important factor in the success of any athlete.

Dedication

What does it take to be a champion?  Desire, dedication, determination and the will to win!

Determination

The price of success is hard work, dedication and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.
