Memorial Day Weekend Tournament - Denton, Texas

The following teams will be participating in a Memorial Day Weekend Tournament in Denton, Texas (17U Girls, 16U Girls, 15U Girls, 14U Girls, 14U Boys and 11U Boys). All teams will leave Saturday morning at 6:00 AM from The Bearrington School located at 1250 Texas Parkway, Stafford, Texas 77477. Players should arrive between 5:30 and 5:45 so that we can load the vans and be ready to pull out at 6:00 AM. All players will wear their practice uniform while traveling to Dallas on Saturday.

Please make sure that you receive a contact list when dropping off your child. The contact list will contain the contact information for your child as well as the Athletic Director.

Parents please be advised that most of our teams will be in action this weekend. Our girls teams will be playing in the Cy-Fair Tournament while some of our boys team will be in action for the first time in Clear Lake. Please come out and support our kids.

Here we grow again!!!!! - The Ft. Bend Stars is looking for a few good coaches! As we experience growth, we need to bring in qualifed coaches to come in and assist our head coaches as well as fill a couple of head coaching positions on our boys side. It is our desire to have at least two coaches per team.

Please join me in congratulating the 12U Girls team for taking first place in the Houston Insiders Tournament in Katy, the 13U Girls team for placing third in the Prime Time National Qualifying Tournament in Spring, the 14U Girls team for placing 2nd in the Prime Time National Qualifying Tournament and the 16U team for placing second in the Girls Unlimited Tournament held in Bay City, Texas. Many thanks to the coaches of these teams as well. Your Ft. Bend Family is truly proud of you!!!!!

Our new 14U Boys team were in action for the first time of the season this past weekend. They played very well for a first year team. Continue to keep up the hard work. The 14U team will be back in action this weekend in Clear Lake.

TAKS Testing - There will be no practice on Monday, April 7, 2008 for all student athletes in grades 5th thru 8th. These athletes are excused from practice to prepare for TAKS testing. All other age groups will have practice as scheduled.

Team Merchandise - Please see your team mom to begin ordering team merchandise. Your team mom will have the order forms available in the gym. There are a variety of items to choose from including, t-shirts, polo shirts, caps, blankets, stadium seats, jackets, warm ups, backpacks, decals as well as other items.

Fundraising Opportunities - For any parent wanting to work to help raise money for your registration fees, please get with your team mom to let them know that your are interested in working. We will be working a local event on April 12th and 13 and anyone wanting to work should let their team mom know so that they can be included in that event. Keep in mind that all teams will be playing next weekend and if you volunteer, you will miss seeing your child play. Think about it and let your team mom know by next Monday's practice.

WOW!!!! It has been a while since the last update. The 2008 Season is well under way. The girls have been playing for the last couple of weeks, while our boys will begin tournament play this weekend. Please come out and support our student athletes.

Congratulations to the following teams for their accomplishments early on during the season. The 15U Silver Team placed first in the Westside Tournament held March 28-30 in Katy, Texas. The 13U Team placed second in the Houstonians Tournament held March 14-16 in Houston, Texas. While our 12U Team placed first in the Cy Fair Tournament held March 20-22, in Humble, Texas.

Good luck to all Ft. Bend teams that are still competing in the playoffs. Dulles, Marshall, Willowridge and Hightower all advanced to the second round of the Girls 5A Basketball Playoffs. All four teams will be in action again tonight possibly setting up a couple of district rematch games in round three of the playoff. Round three of the playoffs could see a Dulles vs. Willowridge as well as a Marshall vs. Hightower matachup if all teams advance to round three. Good luck to all coaches, teams and Ft. Bend Stars players represented on each team.

The coaches and staff would like to take this time to say job well done to all the "Shining Stars" of our organization. We have had the opportunity to get out and see each of our players play throughout the city and they have done a wonderful job for their programs. We can honestly say that you have made us proud of each and every one of you. As the regular season begins to wind down, we would like to wish each of you the best as you begin your run to the State Championships. Remember, play hard or don't play at all!!!!!!!!

Congratulations to Sarah Ogoke for being nominated for Player of the Week honors. Sarah had an outstanding game against Bush racking up 22 points, 9 rebounds, eight steals amd 5 assists.

Happy New Year!!!!! As we begin the new year, there are many exciting things going on with the Ft. Bend Stars. We are working really hard on making this season a success. Please check back real soon for more details.

Wow!!!! As you can see from our new and improved website, many wonderful things are going on with our organization. The organization is continuing to go through many exciting changes. Just a quick recap of last summer, we have now added boys to our program. Last year, we added 4 new boys teams bringing the total number of teams in our organization to 10. We had 6 girls teams ranging from 11U to Jr. Eligible competing last year as well as 4 boys teams. I can truly say that it was a very busy and rewarding year for us.

Last year, we also had our Jr. Eligible and 11U teams place 2nd in the Primetime National tournament held in Lewisville, Texas. This was a great accomplishment for both of those teams espically our 11U Team since they were a first year team. We are looking for many great things from them as well as the rest of our teams.

We also want to send out congratulations to all the freshman girls that made varsity and jr. varsity on their high school basketball teams!!!!!
